Documentary Wedding Photographer in Dorset
Hi, I’m Steve, a documentary wedding photographer (who also specialises in candid and traditional wedding photography) based in Dorset. I work all over the UK and can travel abroad if necessary. I started my journey as a wedding photographer over 10 years ago, and I've won various awards and competitions since.
What is documentary wedding photography?
A documentary wedding photographer is a photographer who focuses on capturing real, candid moments throughout the wedding day. Unlike traditional posed photos, documentary wedding photography aims to tell the story of the event as it naturally happens, without interference or direction from the photographer. The goal is to capture genuine emotions, spontaneous interactions, and authentic details, creating a visual narrative that reflects the true atmosphere of the wedding. This style is often favored by couples who want their photos to feel natural and unobtrusive and want to highlight the unique and personal moments of their day.
Are you Strictly a Documentary Wedding Photographer?
No, we specialise in a mix of photography styles, ranging from documentary, candid, and the traditional formal couple and group photos with both camera and drone, and we always try to get some off-camera flash shots after dusk.
We specialise in all styles of wedding photography and can adjust to whichever you’re looking for. We can also do a mix of the styles as well so you get the traditional photos (cake cutting, the first dance, the first look, etc), and photos of you naturally enjoying your day.
